Mr. Venkatesh Balasubramaniam

Managing Director & Head of Research

Venkatesh Balasubramaniam has over two decades of diverse experience spanning sell-side equity research, long-only buy-side investing, and credit rating. Throughout his career, he has developed a strong reputation for in-depth sectoral analysis, sharp investment insights, and a deep understanding of capital markets.

On the sell-side, Venkatesh has worked with some of the most respected global and domestic financial institutions, including JM Financial, Citigroup Global Markets, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Axis Capital. In these roles, he has advised institutional investors on equity strategy, conducted detailed company and industry research, and played a key role in shaping market outlook.

Complementing his sell-side credentials, Venkatesh has also gained valuable experience on the buy side through his stint at Tokio Marine Asset Management. There, he focused on long-only strategies, leveraging his analytical strengths to support investment decisions across Asia (ex-Japan). His early career included work at CRISIL, one of India's premier credit rating agencies, where he honed his skills in credit analysis.

Venkatesh has a PGDM degree from the IIM Bangalore. He has also done his Electronics and Communication Engineering from NIT, Trichy.
